Akoji Achimugu is a legal practitioner and consumer protection expert with twenty-one years of experience in regulatory compliance, consumer advocacy and competition in Nigeria. Over the course of his career at the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), he has developed extensive experience in addressing consumer protection and competition issues, legal drafting, regulatory matters and litigation.

His professional experience is complemented by international training in intellectual property rights, cross-border investigations and pharmaceutical crimes. He participated in the prestigious International Visitor Leadership Program on Intellectual Property Rights organised by the United States Department of Justice, as well as programmes on Cross-Border Investigations on Pharmaceutical Crimes in Ghana and Intellectual Property Rights in Botswana.

Akoji is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC), Nigeria, and applies alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in resolving consumer and market-related disputes. He has also represented the FCCPC in several legal proceedings involving the Commission before Nigeria's superior courts of record.

He is committed to excellence in public service and has a strong interest in policy development, effective regulation and advancing Nigeria's regulatory interests in international engagements.
